City of St Charles School District

A Proud Past...An Enlightened Future

  • On Tuesday, April 6th, 2021, voters in St. Charles City approved by a 78% majority Proposition SCSD, a $50 million no tax-rate increase bond issue that allows the district to borrow money only to be used for facility repairs, renovations and other capital projects.

“We are so thankful for the support of the SCSD community,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of the City of St. Charles School District. “Strong schools create strong communities and by passing this bond issue, we are able to provide our community with schools they can take pride in.”

The money generated from Proposition SCSD will be used to fund projects aligned with 4 main goals: learning during the pandemic and beyond, improving instructional/ activity areas, safety, security, and functionality of facilities for learning, and energy function and efficiency. Including individual building projects, there are district-wide projects including interior and exterior LED lighting upgrades, miscellaneous plumbing fixes, and HVAC repair/ replacement.

  • Because virtual instruction can be an effective education option for some students, the district may offer virtual courses to students through district staff or by contracting for those services as part of the district-sponsored curriculum. In addition, eligible students may enroll in virtual courses offered through the Missouri Course Access Program (MOCAP). The district will accept all grades and credits earned through district-sponsored virtual instruction and MOCAP.

The St. Charles School District has partnered with the LAUNCH program for MOCAP approved virtual education options. Please see the following website for further information and course lists.
