    Friday, December 6th 2019:

    ***StuCo will be hosting the annual finals study session, Cocoa Cram, on Monday, December 16th from 5:30-8:30 PM in the library.  Teachers will be available to assist students as they prepare for their finals.  All students are welcome to stay and study as little or as long as they want.  Hot cocoa, water, and snacks will be available.  Come join in as we kick off a successful Finals Week!!***

    -Attention all SCW students:  Final exam exemption forms are ready for pickup in the Main Office!!  Check your email for more information.  If you have any additional questions, please do not hesitate to ask!! 

    -HOSA:  Will be selling candy grams through December 19th for $1. HOSA members will be going around during AIP to hand out forms to purchase a candy gram. You can return the form and money to Mr. Jameson or give it to your AIP teacher to put in his mailbox.

    -Attention SCWest Students and Staff:  You are all invited to share in two evenings of music with the St. Charles West music department.  The first concert will feature the choirs and orchestra on Tuesday, December 10th beginning at 7:00pm.  The second concert will feature our concert band and jazz band on Thursday, December 12th beginning at 7:30pm.  This will be the bands' first time in our building for their winter concert in last five years and they are thrilled to be back!  The concerts are free and will be held in our auditorium.  Please come enjoy the sounds of the season.

    -StuCo Members:  Please stop by the library to sign up for Adopt-A-Family items.  All items should be turned in UNWRAPPED to Ms. Gates by Thursday, Dec. 12th.  Let's help make someone's holiday a little brighter!  

    -All SCW students that participated in the exchange with the Irish:  Please send Mr. Jackson 2 or 3 pictures of your favorite memories with your friends. This will be placed in the video program.

    -Video Contest:  Do you like reading and making videos?  Then the MASL Book Trailer contest for the 2019-2020 Gateway nominees is perfect for you!  If your video is chosen, it will be shared with students and librarians at schools all across the state of Missouri.  See Ms. Gates for information.

    -Attention SCW Students:  You will only be allowed to checkout library Chromebooks before school and during AIP.  So plan ahead and be prepared.  If you need paperwork so that you can get your own 1 to 1 Chromebook, see Ms. Gates.  All borrowed Chromebooks must be returned by the end of the day.

    -Attention all SCW Students:  If you have been issued a 1 to 1 Chromebook for use throughout the year, it is your responsibility to bring that device to school charged each day.  Loaner Chromebooks are for students that have broken Chromebooks needing repair or for the OCCASIONAL time when you forget your Chromebook or charger.  They are not here for everyday school use while the one that you have been issued stays at home.  Chromebooks checked out through the library are for day use only and must be returned by the end of the school day.  If you haven't gotten your Chromebook yet, you can still do that.  See Ms. Gates for the required paperwork.

    Club News

    -HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America):  HOSA is an organization for future health professionals. Anyone who is interested in the health professions are welcome to join. Meetings will be on early out Wednesdays at 1:30pm in Mr. Jameson's room (C100). 

    -Dungeons and Dragons club:  At D&D club we will play and learn the game D&D!  D&D club will meet after school in Ms. Joseph's room (B117) on Tuesday’s until 4:30 PM.  We will have snacks!  Come and join us in the world of D&D!

    -FCCLA (Family, Careers, Community Leaders of America):  Will meet on the last Monday of each month in C114.  All are welcome!

    -GEC: Will meet after school on Thursdays in the library until 4:00 pm.  We hope to see you there!

    -Renaissance:  Will meet after school on Thursdays in Mrs. Hockmeyer's room (A101). 

    -Science Club:  Will meet after school on Monday’s in room #B112.

    -NHS:  Will meet every other Wednesday at 7:00 am in the auditorium.  The next meeting will be January 15th

    -Girls Who Code:  Will meet every B-Day Monday at 2:30 pm in C108.

    -FBLA: Will meet every B-Day Tuesday at 6:45 am in C108. 

    -FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club:  Meeting dates/times will be set at a later date.  If you are interested in joining, please come by and see Ms. Kulage (Roberts) in Guidance!

    -StuCo:  Will meet Thursday’s during AIP.  See Ms. Gates or Mrs. Holland to be added to the AIP list.  All are welcome!

    ***Students at SCW are not encouraged to bring cell phones or other electronic devices to school.  If students choose to bring such items, they should be turned off and securely stored out of sight during the school day.  Cell phones may be used before school, after school, during passing periods and at lunch only.***

    ***Be sure to join the SCW Library Google Classroom for information and video tutorials related to accessing the online research databases at home and other helpful resources.  The join code is 1gjo93.  See Ms. Gates if you have questions or problems accessing any of the information.***

    ***Any student who thinks they may need a tutor, don't delay your success!  Stay ahead of the game and sign up for a tutor outside Mrs. Perkins's room B110 today!***

    Guidance News
