    Tuesday, November 23rd 2021:

    -IMPORTANT!!  As recommended by the St. Charles County Department of Public Health: If a member of a student's household has been tested for Covid-19 and is awaiting test results, all students in the household should stay home from school that day.  In any case, families should contact school in order to report the absence and obtain any login information necessary.

    -Renaissance will be recognizing SCW students who display specific character traits for Student of the Month.  The character trait for November is Gratitude. 

    -Attention SCW! Don't forget to stop by MOD Pizza on Tuesday, November 30th from 10:30am to 10pm! Show THIS FLYER OR mention St. Charles West Prom when ordering and SCW Prom will earn 20% back from your order. Thanks for your support!

    ***StuCo’s annual Food Drive runs through TODAY, 11/23/21. In addition to having an AIP competition, this year we will also be competing against St. Charles High School!!  All items donated here at West support the district's backpack food program so let's help as many folks as we can. Items needed include individual servings of macaroni and cheese or other pastas, pull top cans of soup and vegetables, crackers, cereal/granola bars, and fruit cups.  Turn in items to your AIP.  See signs hanging around the building or use this link Food Drive 2021. The overall winning AIP will be announced at the next assembly and the winning school will be announced at the Turkey TipOff.*** 

    -Attention all SCW students: For attendance purposes, if you miss school for a medical appointment, please be sure to turn in a doctor’s note to Mrs. Arns. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Arns in the Attendance Office. 

    -Attention all SCW students: If you have a vacation planned during the school year, you will need to stop by the Attendance Office to get a vacation form from Mrs. Arns. This form requires signatures from all of your teachers and your principal, so please plan accordingly.

    -Attention all Junior and Senior students: If you plan to visit a college during school hours please stop by the Attendance Office and get a college visit form from Mrs. Arns. This form should be turned in to the Attendance Office 2 days prior to your college visit AND requires signatures from all of your teachers and your principal, so please plan accordingly.

    -SCW Students:  NO OUTSIDE FOOD IS ALLOWED @ SCW. Please do not have outside food (fast food, etc.) delivered/dropped off as it will be turned away regardless of circumstances. If you do forget your lunch, the district is providing free meal options.  

    Club News

    -Art Club: Art Club is back at its regular times of Monday and Tuesday 2:30-3:30pm in room H108. Click here to find out what the Art Club is doing each week.

    ***Do you want to be an illustrator? Game designer? Comic book artist? Sculptor? Painter? Graphic designer? Fashion designer? A representative from the School of the Art Institute of Kansas City will be here during AIP on Friday Dec. 3 in the H108 (Ms. Martin's art room). Anyone who is interested in hearing about higher education and careers in the arts (even if it might be far off) is welcome to attend. No need to get a pass, attendance will be taken there.***

    -Dungeons and Dragons Club: We will NOT be meeting today, 11/23/2021.

    -FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America): We will be meeting during AIP on B-Day Tuesday's! We are looking for a few amazing students who would like to participate in competitive business events against students from the area. Not only does FBLA membership look AMAZING on college applications, but if you enjoy any business topic...why not show others what a BOSS you really are in competition. Please don't let competing stress you out as MANY events are done online in the privacy of a classroom all by yourself. We are a low-stress, high caliber group of students. Come see what it's all about. 

    -FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes): We meet EVERY Friday at 6:30 am in room J129. We welcome everyone to join us for weekly pancakes, games, discussions about faith and sports, and prayer.

    -GSA (Saint Charles West Gender Sexuality Alliance): We will meet on Monday’s from 2:30-3:30 in room A105.

    -HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America): On Wednesday, December 1st, HOSA is hosting a talk with the STCAD about EMT and Paramedic careers. Join us at 1:30pm for this interactive presentation!

    Classroom News

    ***SCW Students: The Learning Lab is available to all students who would like to test in a smaller, quiet location. It is located in the Library Classroom. If you would like to use the Lab during a test, complete this Google Form at least 15 minutes PRIOR to your test time. The Learning Lab is CLOSED during 1st lunch.*** 

    ***SCW Students: Add the SCW Library Google Classroom (join code: cosh32v) for access to research resources, video tutorials, and database passwords for at home use.  Through the classroom, you can get help for the electronic resources available 24/7.  Email or see Ms. Gates during AIP if you need additional help.***

    ***Students at SCW are not encouraged to bring cell phones or other electronic devices to school.  If students choose to bring such items, they should be turned off and securely stored out of sight during the school day.  Cell phones may be used before school, after school, during passing periods and at lunch only.***

    ***Any student who thinks they may need a tutor, don't delay your success!  Stay ahead of the game and sign up with your counselor for a tutor today!***

    Guidance News

    -MAC Scholars Homework Academy: All SCW students who need assistance with homework assignments will have the opportunity to sign up for homework help and work with teachers and/or peer tutors after school. The Homework Academy will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:30-4:00 pm.  Students should use the link below to register for the sessions they would like to attend. During the first semester, the MAC Scholars Homework Academy will run every Tuesday/Thursday until December 16th.
