The City of St. Charles School District is proud to serve our special education students each year. We are dedicated to providing every eligible student with an effective Individualized Education Program in the least restrictive environment. With a complete continuum of service delivery models, an expert staff, on-going and specialized staff development and knowledgeable supervision and support, we are committed to offering not only appropriate educational services, but also services which are of the highest in quality.
The City of St. Charles School Districts special education department is a supportive extension of our exemplary regular educational system. Our district believes in providing students with disabilities the highest quality of service. Services are provided to students (ages 3-21) who qualify under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Improvement Act of 2004 and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education guidelines. Following a multi-disciplinary evaluation to determine eligibility, an Individual Education Program or IEP is developed for each child with a disability based upon his or her unique needs. Students may receive specially designed academic instruction and related services such as speech, occupational or physical therapy.
