Reverification

Welcome Back, SCSD Families!

Reverification is the process of confirming your family’s address. In past years, we required residency verification when enrolling for the first time and when your child entered fifth grade, seventh grade and ninth grade. Beginning this year, all returning SCSD families must complete residency reverification annually. This update helps ensure accurate enrollment and consistent processes across all schools. Only one person per family needs to complete this process. If you have children across multiple buildings, you only need to submit the documentation once.

If you have not completed your family’s reverification by August 4, 2026, your children’s first day of school may be delayed.

Complete Reverification

We emailed all returning families a link to complete the reverification process. If you don't receive an email by July 1, please check your Spam or Junk folder. Then, email residency@stcharlessd.org for further assistance.

Online Reverification Window

The online reverification window will open on July 1 and close on July 22. After July 22, reverification must be completed in person. You will need your required documentation to upload.

In-Person Reverification Event

We will host two reverification events at Jefferson Intermediate School:

  • Wednesday, July 29, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, August 4, from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m.

Please bring your required documentation to the event. This means complete copies of each document—such as your full lease agreement or your full mortgage statement (not just a portion). If it came in the mail, please bring the whole envelope.

We will have translators available for Spanish-speaking families. If your family requires translation support for another language, please let us know so we can make arrangements.

Gather Required Documents

Proof of Residency

St. Charles School District must comply with Missouri Law (RsMo.167.151), which states that a student must live within a school district's boundaries in order to attend that district's public schools. Mo. Rev. Stat. 167.020.4 states that any person who knowingly submits false information with respect to satisfying the residency requirements is guilty of a “Class A" misdemeanor.

Acceptable documents for proof of residency must have parent or legal guardian name (lease holder/ homeowner), current address within district boundaries, and a current date visible. If the above requirements are not visible, we cannot accept the documents will be rejected. We cannot accept a state ID as proof of residency.

You must provide one document from List A and List B to prove your child's residency.

List A

  • Current Rental Contract
  • Current Real Estate Contract
  • Current Mortgage Statement
  • Current Homeowner or Rental Insurance Policy

If your rental, lease or insurance documentation expires before August 1, we will require you to provide updated documentation before the first day of school.

List B

  • Current/Unpaid Utility Bill for Electric, Gas, Water
  • Current Voter Registration Card (Cannot say “Current Resident”)
  • Current Bank Statement
  • Current Credit Card Statement
  • Current Personal Property Tax Receipt
  • Welfare, Social Security Statement, or Other Legal Court Document

Utility bills must be dated within the past 30 days. If you recently moved and haven't received a utility bill, you must request a "Service Verification Letter" from the utility company and provide a utility bill within 30 days.

Special Situations that Require Additional Documentation

If any of the following situations pertain to you, you may have to fill out additional paperwork like an affidavit of residency or guardianship.

  • You have a contract on a house, but you have not occupied the residence
  • Your name is not on your lease agreement, or you do not own your home
  • Your student is not living with a parent or court-appointed guardian
  • Your student is under Foster Care

Deadline

Please complete the reverification process by Tuesday, August 4. Failure to do so will result in your child's inability to attend classes. We understand how important your child's education is, and we appreciate your immediate attention.
