MOCAP Virtual Instruction

Because virtual instruction can be an effective education option for some students, the district may offer virtual courses to students through district staff or by contracting for those services as part of the district-sponsored curriculum.

Missouri Course Access Program

In 2018, Senate Bill 603 was passed establishing the Missouri Course Access and Virtual School Program (MOCAP). MOCAP is intended to provide access to online courses for all Missouri K-12 students needing flexible academic programming through online coursework. The district will accept all grades and credits earned through district-sponsored virtual instruction and MOCAP.

The St. Charles School District has partnered with the LAUNCH program for MOCAP approved virtual education options. Please see the following website for further information and course lists.

Enrolling in MOCAP

Part-Time Enrollment

Many students wish to take courses that we may not currently offer but our online providers do offer. If you would like to take one or more MOCAP courses, please follow the MOCAP instructions.

  1. Contact your school and let them know you would like to enroll in one or more MOCAP courses.
  2. SCSD will contact the MOCAP course provider to begin enrollment.
  3. Select your classes.
  4. Participate in classes.
  5. Your school will monitor your progress in the course.

Full-Time Enrollment

If you wish to go virtually full time, please follow the MOCAP instructions. This means you likely will transfer out of our district to a new online hosting district.

  1. Contact the online education provider you choose.
  2. The provider will reach out to SCSD to request a transfer from our district to the host district.
  3. Select your classes.
  4. Participate in classes.
