Visitors
We take our responsibility to keep students safe, from preschool through 12th grade, very seriously, which is why we must know who is in our school buildings.
Welcome to Our District!
Families wishing to visit the classroom to observe specific academic instruction will contact the school office, providing 24-hour notice and state the purpose of the visit (identify what you wish to accomplish by the visit). The building principal will decide on the approval of the visit based on the purpose of the request.
This process is for the protection of all students and the instructional program. Many children in the classroom setting receive special services (ELL, Special Education, Title, Speech, etc.) during the school day due to their individual academic needs, and this information is extremely confidential. Due to FERPA (Federal Law), requests will be closely scrutinized to ensure the safety and confidentiality of our student population, along with their individual programming needs.
Volunteering
If you are interested in attending a field trip, chaperoning student groups or coaching, please see our volunteers page for more information.
Our Visitor Security System
We use the Raptor system to track visitors, and we have video doorbells that require visitors to get buzzed in before they can enter a school.
If you want to enter the building farther than the school office or check out a student, you must register once at each building you visit by presenting a valid, state-issued ID to the school’s office staff.
This system provides the schools a quick and efficient way to identify anyone who might present a danger to students. Raptor checks visitors against sex offender and custom district lists. Raptor will provide a consistent, standardized system to track visitors and volunteers. This is especially useful during emergencies to know who is on campus.
