SCHS names Dr. Patricia Closson as Asst. Principal

Dr. Patricia ClossonThe City of St. Charles School District is excited to announce that Dr. Patricia Closson has been selected to serve as the St. Charles High School assistant principal, effective July 1, 2022. The District’s Board of Education approved the selection at its February 10, 2022 meeting.

Dr. Closson currently serves as assistant principal at Ritenour High School, a position she has held since 2014. Prior to her current position, she served as assistant principal at McCluer High School from 2010-2014. Dr. Closson served as a St. Charles High English teacher from 2001-10.

“I’m thrilled to be working again with the students, staff and families of St. Charles High,” Dr. Closson said. “St. Charles High School is a cornerstone of this community and I’m looking forward to being part of it once again. Being an alum makes this opportunity even more special.”

Dr. Closson holds four degrees: a Doctorate of Education from Lindenwood University, a Master of Arts in Educational Administration and a Master of Arts in Education from Lindenwood University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Southwest Missouri State University.

“We are very excited to welcome Dr. Closson back to the St. Charles School District family,” said Dr. Jason Sefrit, superintendent of schools. “We believe that her experience both as an assistant principal and as a former St. Charles High teacher makes her the perfect person for this job.”

Dr. Closson will be replacing Dr. Ted Happel, who accepted the role of St. Charles High principal at the January Board of Education meeting.
