SCSD receives almost $400K check from BizSavers program

The City of St. Charles School District is pleased to announce that at the February Board of Education meeting, it was presented with a check from Ameren Missouri for $393,819.90. The check was issued for the District taking part in BizSavers, a program in which schools receive bash incentives to help cover the cost of energy-efficient upgrades.

The City of St. Charles School District took advantage of the BizSavers program, earning incentives since 2020, and offsetting the following project costs:
• Upgrades at seven facilities: Monroe Elementary, Harris Elementary, Null Elementary, Hardin Middle, St. Charles High School, Benton District Office, and the district’s transportation facility.
• Projects consisted of LED lighting and HVAC updates.
• 3.1 million kilowatt-hours saved per year, translating to approximately $245,000 in savings for City of St. Charles School District.

The ongoing energy savings can make a big difference in their long-term operating budget, freeing up more money to use where it matters most – for students.
