Letter from Dr. Sefrit 5/13/22

SCSD Families,

At the BOE meeting last evening, the Board of Education approved the below administrative changes.

  • We are excited to announce Dr. Earl Draper as our next Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Draper comes to us from the Fort Zumwalt School District where he serves as a principal of DuBray Middle School. We are so excited about Dr. Draper re-joining our SCSD family! He served as an assistant principal for three years at Hardin Middle School before moving to Fort Zumwalt as a principal. Dr. Draper will be taking the place of Dr. Danielle Tormala who is leaving the City of St. Charles School District to become the Superintendent at the Wentzville School District.
  • Dr. Rodney Lewis’ position title is now Associate Superintendent of Human Resources. This means he will take over the number two position in the District that Dr. Tormala held. We are excited for Dr. Lewis to take on additional responsibilities in helping lead/supervise our District into the future.
  • Mrs. Julie McClard’s position title is now Executive Director of Special Education and Special Services. She also will take on additional responsibilities in helping lead/supervise our District as well.
  • Hardin principal Dr. Darryl Diggs submitted his resignation effective as of June 30th. We thank Dr. Diggs for his service in leading Hardin over the past two years, and we wish him all the best. We will be moving forward quickly to find our next leader for Hardin. We are confident we will be able to be successful in our search and that the best is yet to come for Hardin.

We are very close to the end of the school year. Summer is on the way. I want to encourage everyone to keep going strong. Let’s continue working together and give our best every day. We wish everyone a very safe and restful summer. We can’t wait to welcome back staff and students in August.

BEST,
Dr. Jason Sefrit
Superintendent of Schools
